In person these families had an AMAZING connection with each other, but based on these photos, you'd never really know it.
I didn't know how to navigate poor indoor lighting correctly and didn't know how manage large groups. More than that, it was hard for me to get my subjects feeling loose, natural, and comfortable and I felt like a constant intruder in their homes during the session.
The typical result was blurry and white-washed photos that looked cold, "forced," and were just overall unusable.
There's no sugar-coating it: I was embarrassed and I felt like a failure.
